The felines in question had fleas, lack of fur, eye and nose secretions, and wounds from fights. Upon investigation, authorities found 309 animals in the woman’s mobile home, who is a teacher, including chickens, ducks, geese, a peacock, cats, and dogs.
The shocking conditions of the mobile home included a strong smell of ammonia, feces, and urine stains, with animals climbing on furniture.
The 48-year-old woman, who considers herself an “animal savior,” faces charges related to the animals’ state, including neglect, and animal adoption is being encouraged to avoid euthanasia due to overcrowding in the shelter.
